Preparing for trade
There is no trade candidate at the present. However, we are preparing the following plants for trade:
- Eriospermum capense ssp. capense, Bethelsdorp
- Eriospermum proliferum, no locality
- Eriospermum pubescens, no locality, glabrous form
- Ledebouria galpinii, no locality
It basically means that we get to be able to proliferate the plants to some extent.
Why we trade
Our ultimate goal is to preserve rare plants alive in horticultural scene. We would love to establish steady proliferation methods of those plants, then to establish their steady supply regardless of the scale.
We have been very sorry that many precious plants are field-collected, sold, dispersed on the globe and then gone. We should do something for the situation.
Certain part of our plants are truly rare. Some Eriospermum plants were left (we would avoid using the word 'given') to us by a scientist in the front line. Many other plants were offered sporadically once in a small amount and have never been offered since then.
We would like to offer such plants as trade with experienced growers to achive their safe growth and proliferation. We think those plants should never be supplied as commercial items until their real, stable proliferation is obtained.
