About the online shopping cart system
We have prepared a plain shopping cart system on catalog pages just for your convenience. Its functions are just to edit order forms and to submitthem as e-mails; no function of handling online payment at the present.
Actually ordering this way is rather similar to ordering by e-mail though, you do not need to take care of order format or to calculate prices by yourself. Considering also that the shopping cart system is linked to our inventory, we think using shopping cart is less confusing and less frustrating.
Requirements
To make use of this facility your browser should enable both cookies and JavaScript. Without them the shopping cart will not work or you may not even see it there. We have confirmed that it works with IE 6.0 and Firefox 1.0 on Windows XP.
Usage
1. Add an item on a catalog page
On a catalog page,
if you find an item you would like to order, select quantity from dropdown list and then
click
button.
Right then the catalog page is switched to your shopping cart page and there you can see the item you added to your cart.
You can add an phytosanitary certificate in the same manner.
If 'ADD TO CART' button is displayed of a pale color like
it means the item is out of stock. Nothing will happen if you click such a button.
You can view your shopping cart whenever you click
button or
button on a catalog page.
2. Edit cart items
To change quantity of item at shopping cart page, click the box on QTY. column,
enter new quantity and then click Recalculate button.
Quantity will be updated and the price will be recalculated.
To remove an item simply click REMOVE text by the side of the item. Or if you would like to remove all items in your shopping cart, click Empty Cart button.
If you want to check other items on catalog page, press Continue Shopping button which will lead you there.
When you decide to place an order, press Edit Customer Information button.
3. Edit Customer Information
Customer information you should provide is not uncommon.
At 'E-Mail address' lines, type in your same e-mail address into the two boxes.
If you check 'Save the customer Info...' box, your customer information will be encrypted and saved as a cookie in your browser only when you send the order form.
Select payment method and delivery method you prefer. You will not be directed to payment page even if you choose Paypal payment, because you have to be notified the shipping and handling charge from us later.
When you completed the information and made sure, press REVIEW ORDER button. You can go back with GO BACK link to make changes of your order.
4. Review order
At 'REVIEW ORDER' page you can review your order again just before submitting. Please make sure every content of your order. You can go back with GO BACK link to make changes or correct mistakes of your order.
When you are sure to place the order press SUBMIT ORDER FORM button.
5. Get submission notice
When you press SUBMIT ORDER FORM button and the order form is processed successfully,
the 'Review order' page will turn to 'Thanks for your order' page. This means that your order is formatted and then mailed to both our e-mail address and your e-mail address.
Please remember this does not necessarily mean determination of your order. We will review the order form and send you another e-mail of order receipt soon after. Then you can discuss with us about making changes, substituting items or correcting mistakes.
Limitations, problems
With all the conveniences our online shopping cart has a few problems which we would like you to remember.
(1) Order forms can be sent in any order amount because it does not check mimimum order. You will be notified about the matter after submitting order form if your order is going under a certain limit.
(2) Shipping and handling charge is not calculated because we could not implement the shopping cart to calculate it appropriately. You will be notified the exact charge in order receipt e-mail from us, which will be sent to you soon after we receive the order form.
(3) Inventory data on our website may have some difference from our real inventory. There is an inevitable timelag in updating the online inventory data because we accept other ways of ordering or there may be unexpectable item loss.
